Swedish Massage

 This massage delivers complete rest and relaxation. Long comforting strokes of light to medium pressure to relieve muscle tension, balances circulation, and overall feeling of rejuvenation . 

1. Effleurage. This first step involves long, sweeping strokes with the hands, gliding over the body. The main purpose of this is to relax the muscles.
2. Petrissage. This next steps, the muscles are gently manipulated by being squeezed and       the lifted from the body. This is to relax the muscles and improve circulation. 
3. Vibration.  These are movements that shake and vibrate the body.  This technique gradually releases tension in the muscles being worked on,
4. Friction. This technique can be done by rubbing back and forth. The movement creates heat, warming up the muscles in the body to be treated for deep massage technique. 
5. Tapotement. This is rhythmic tapping, pounding and patting of the body.  This motion is like drumming, you produce sound with your hands by cupping, hacking and chopping.  This is usually used as the last technique in a massage session.
